The beginning

Well I have had this blog up and running for ages now but have done nothing with it except to put up the picture. This was the first week I had her, She was just three years old and had already raced seven times. If you look at her form you can see she seemed to go backwards which I suppose is how I got her (http://www.attheraces.com/form.asp?id=2122401&ref=cardmain&dte=2007-03-04&refsite=atr) I bought her from a friend who deals in reschooling ex racehorses and sells them on they are very good, get in touch and I'll send you the contact.

Darcie is a typical mare (very mareish) and she windsucks!! Suffice it to say I didn't want a mare, I wanted a lovely natured bay gelding and I certainly didn't want anything that wind sucks - what did I get a chesnut mare with white socks tooo!!! She was very sweet natured at first and the yard where I keep her at full livery ; Bogs Hall, Kirkby Malzeard thought she was lovely, till she turned into a mare, no I'm joking we all love her.

Well its like the blind leading the blind schooling Darcie as I am not the worlds most experienced horsewoman, but I picked a yard where they were experienced at training youngsters and I get lots of help when I need it.

Darc is kind of cute and can be very affectionate, she had a really bad time as I bought her with a hoof problem which got worse before it got better and resulted in her spending her first winter in with nko turm out and not much hacking, you can imagine she was goign stir crazy by Easter and you can only imagine the problems I had when we started to hack out, but thats the next installment.
